During a diatribe Friday about liberal mainstream media bias, Fox News host Sean Hannity slammed his former colleague Megyn Kelly for aligning herself with NBC, one of the networks he believes to be a part of what he calls the “destroy-Trump media.”
He began his monologue that evening by referring to CNN president Jeff Zucker and NBC News/MSNBC chairman Andrew Lack as “fake news chiefs” and then playing a montage of various CNN and MSNBC hosts making outlandish statements about President Donald Trump.
After the montage concluded, Hannity asked, “Andy, are you proud of that kind of reporting?”
“Tom Brokaw, are you proud of that?” he continued. “My former colleague Megyn Kelly … are you proud, Megyn? Are you proud, Matt Lauer?”
He did add that Kelly, who left her position at Fox News in early 2017 to pursue a “triple role” at NBC News, is a far better journalist “on her worst day” than former NBC host Tom Brokaw.
Friday’s polemic was the second time Hannity had criticized Kelly for taking a job at NBC.
On Wednesday’s show he delivered a similar tirade during which he played a montage of Trump-related “conspiracy theories” that have been peddled by hosts at NBC and MSNBC.
“Hey, Tom Brokaw, are you proud of NBC News now?” he asked afterward.
“(M)y former colleague, Megyn Kelly, moved over to NBC,” he added. “Is she proud of this type of reporting?”
CNN, NBC and MSNBC have received ample criticism lately for pushing fake news about both Trump and the GOP-led Congress.
In promoting Kelly’s interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month, for instance, NBC falsely claimed Putin “does not deny having compromising information” on President Donald Trump.”
The network later issued a correction after being challenged.
Similarly, CNN came under heavy fire over the weekend after it published a patently false story linking the president to Russia.
A source close to the network later described the retracted story as a “massive, massive f–k up.”
