Laura Ingraham Lashes Politicians on Immigration: ‘Bloodstains on the Sidewalks of New York’ (lifezette.com)

Fox News host on fire after terrorist attack in Manhattan committed by Uzbek immigrant; demands to know why he was admitted by Margaret Menge

Laura Ingraham, host of the new Fox News show “The Ingraham Angle,” tore into politicians on Tuesday night for not doing what’s necessary to secure the country and for allowing in radicals — such as the 29-year-old jihadi from Uzbekistan who drove a truck into innocent people yesterday, killing eight and wounding 15.

“9/11 should have made it obvious to everyone that Islam has a hideous radicalization problem,” she said in a scathing opening monologue. “Donald Trump put the onus on Muslim leaders on his first foreign trip to get their houses in order and reform from within. Here at home, we should not lose one more American life because politicians don’t have the nerve or the will to do what’s necessary to secure the homeland. Our safety is their primary responsibility.”

Joining Ingraham as guests on the show were Ed Davis, commissioner of the Boston Police Department at the time of the 2013 Boston Marathon terrorist attack, and Jim Hanson, president of the Security Studies Group.

“If this guy actually came in on a diversity visa, I don’t think that qualifies — jihadism — as something we want diversely entering this country,” said Hanson.

Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov of Uzbekistan pledged his allegiance to ISIS, police say, before renting a pickup truck at a Home Depot in New Jersey and driving it into Manhattan to kill innocent Americans. New York City Police Commissioner James O’Neill said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon that Saipov had been driving on Houston Street in Lower Manhattan when he turned onto the West Side Highway bike path and drove south on the path, ramming pedestrians intentionally before finally colliding with a school bus at Chambers Street, injuring two adults and two children on the bus. He jumped and ran from the truck, shouting “Allahu Akbar” and brandishing what appeared to be two handguns, but later turned out to be a paintball gun and a pellet gun.

Saipov has reportedly been in the U.S. for seven years, and owns two trucking companies in Ohio. He also worked as an Uber driver.

At the start of her show on Tuesday night, Ingraham played a clip from an interview with White House Chief of Staff John Kelly that aired the night before. The clip showed Kelly saying, about extreme vetting and the need to verify whether people are who they say they are when asking to be granted asylum in the U.S.: “If we can’t verify, I don’t think we should let them into the country.”

Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country of 32 million people, 88 percent of them Muslim. It is a former republic of the Soviet Union.

Ingraham noted that Uzbekistan was not on President Donald Trump’s original “travel ban” list of seven countries, and questioned why it hasn’t been included, especially given that a terrorist group there, called the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2015.

“Why are we letting any of these people into the country?” asked Ingraham. “Look at the bloodstains on the sidewalks in New York. This idea that the United States has an obligation to bring in hundreds of thousands of people from hot spots where we can’t possibly do extreme vetting … This is insanity,” she said.

She made a reference to the Muslim mayor of London, Sadiq Kahn, who said in 2016 that terrorist attacks are just something people have to get used to if they live in a big city, and to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who said that New Yorkers are going to go back to their normal lives.

“Of course we’re going to go back to our regular lives,” said Ingraham. “That’s what we do. But if we can stop these attacks by stopping the people from coming into the country in the first place, why are we playing these politically correct games that end up with the deaths of Americans? To me this is just insanity and lunacy. Uzbekistan? I mean, why are we letting people in from Uzbekistan, ever?”
